robin krassi : Yes, I have a review almost finished for this knife and I was waiting to put it on the stones to be able to say smth about it. But after all this time (and I am using it quite a lot, but home cook), I did not feel the need of sharpening it. I just stroiped it on bare leather once or twice. Impressive. I simply LOVE it. As I wrote you, the video is excellent and the knife came out with a very nice hamon. Even if it is a short vid, I find it very interestiing to see the maestro at work. I give a better idea of the efforts that are behind a knife. It is especially interesting to see the specificities of each maker on the way the arrange their working place, and on the technique they put forward. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks Yes I hope to show a little about what matters to me and the way I make. Everything is freehand, and I try for consistency. I "believe" in practice and aquired skill, and appreciate seeing others techniques and how they work. Last year I met with many makers on a fair and was really overwhelmed by the differences, and how quickly I could get a sense of and appreciation for the "charm" or character of their craft. Even though they may prioritize completely different than me in terms of what is a knife.

Very nice Blade, but the handle is much too much for me!
What are the used steels for this damascus blade?
Greets Sebastian.

You are right zetieum. I saw it like 2 hours after it was posted. Way too late, too.. The only minor good thing I see is that is was AEB-l and not carbon steel I am looking forward to the completion of the custom orders Cheers, Mathias
