I made a trade with one of my colleagues: I sharpened her knives and she kept my cats during my vacations. One of the knife she gave me was a German vintage carbon steel butcher knife. It was in extremely bad condition. Basically, it was a piece of rust that would not cut anything and the handle was black from dirt. I decided to do more than sharpening but refurbishing it. - The handle was sanded and refinished with truOil (15 layers). - the blade reshaped, polished with EDM orange stones and a 1000grit sand paper finished. I thinned the blade behind the edge and sharpen it with a Aizu finish. Note that I left some pits on the blade and the handle on purpose to keep the vintage style. Unfortunately, I did not took a before picture. But I am quite happy with the result, so here it is:

Hi zetieum, first of all I would like to congratulate you for this rare knife. It looks like an old vintage one, but you made it to an actually usable one. Thank you for showing it here. Kisses Andreas
