Leider kann (darf) ich nicht nicht solche elektrischen Geräte zuhause benutzen, die lassen schon die Ausdünnarbeiten in eine fernünftige Zeit erledigen.

Von daher sollte das Messer noch durch viel mehr Hände gehen um die Leute zu erleuchten!  Dieses Messer vermag es, Leute zu erleuchten, ohne dass sie es jemals in den Händen hatten . Chapeau! VG redox |

Wenns eine Linkshänderhohlkehle wär, hät ich schon ein Angebot gemacht und dann würde das Messer den Besitzer sicher nicht mehr wechseln.
Hat eigentlich jemand von euch eine Linkshänderversion einer Hohlkehle?

Ich grane den alten Thread mal wieder aus, da ich selber gerade mein Xerxes aus 1.2008 ausgedünnt habe und nun gern das vorpatinierte klingenfinish wieder herstellen würde. Ich habe das gesamte Messer mit 600er Nassschleifpapier + Ballistol mMn blank geschliffen, ordentlich gereinigt (seifenwasser, ethanol) und dann ca. die patinierbrühe von andreas123 versucht - also auf 1 L Wasser ca. ein Saftglas Löskaffee + 4 EL wasserfreie Zitronensäure. Handwarm für eine halbe Stunde zum Messer. Danach mit Wasser abgewaschen, mit Ballistol getränkt und stehen gelassen. Das Ergebnis ist solala. Zum einen ist nicht die Hamon dunkler sondern heller als der restliche Bereich der Klinge und richtig gleichmäßig ist die Patina auch nicht geworden. Habt ihr Ideen, wie ich das verbessern könnte? suntravel Könntest du mir bitte einen Bauplan für deine Patnierbrühe geben? Du hast ja bspw noch Essigsäure drin. I love seeing your restoration work. I have one or two knives that I'm also going to put into a coffee bath. I've had good luck on knives with handles removed. How are you preventing the mixture from penetrating into the wood on an attached handle? I've heard of using nail polish, then removing with acetone after the coffee bath. Any tips?
Also, any tips on a coffee bath recipe that you like? I've had good luck with dark roast, highly concentrated, but it looks like you're having good luck with additional acid?
